Hi, I installed a TCS WOW WDK ATH-3 decoder and it was working fine until I tried to follow the voice programming. Now there is no sound. Still runs forward and reverse. I reset to factory defaults - still no sound. There IS sound when using the voice programming just no prime mover, horn, bell or anything else.
What did i do? Any ideas how to fix it?
Gary
Have you accidentally muted it? I believe that is F8 for a WOW.

No tried that. I pressed 8 nothing tried 3 times.
Well there have been almost 100 views of this point and only 1 suggestion. Looks like I really messed something up this time
Tuesday I'll try and call TCS and see if they have any ideas.

Reality check!
WOW when you put it that way, I can see what an impatient person I am. Of course, you're correct.
Imagine that, a baby boomer wanting instant gratification. Thats sad.
Many of us did not know voice programming existed. If it works like the computer voice recognition on various corporate help desks, well.....
100 views to 1 Illuminati, that sounds about right.
How about a reset of the decoder?
EDIT So it talks to you, voice recognition doesn't play into it. I looked at the manual on line. Could you have set the Master Volume to 0?

I did reset it and nothing. But GET THIS - Turned it on this morning and the sound is back on! I don't know what happened? If anyone has any ideas please post them.
I don't like this WOW Voice programming. I need to find a TCS-WOW CV chart somewhere so i can program everything normally.
I have one WOW sound, and yes, its much different from the Tsunami's I'm used too.
I didnt really care for the sound programiong either, unless it was to set the volume levels and minor things like that. I have always used JMRI for this kind of thing.
Now back to my experience, pushing F8 twice gets you to "light mode", 4 times gets you to the "sound mode".
I'm not sure how I done it, possible by using a Soundtraxx soundcar decoder in the consists, because to consist the sound car with the engine decoder to must release the brakes on the car and press F8 4 times. :)
Now, and for the longest time, the sound on the WOW works when my Digtrax Zephry shows that its muted, I guess I'm lazy, but I never worried much about it or how I got it to that point, but I do like the decoder.

TCS offers an online programming guide as well.

Personally I am going to use JMRI when my first WOW arrives hopefully next week.
That would explain it ....
You press F8 x4 in rapid sucession to enter audio assist.
"To enter , stop your locomotive on an operational track and press function button 8 in rapid succession 4 times. The decoder will start talking to you giving you a menu similar to a telephone answering machine. Just follow the verbal instructions to adjust or remap many of the sound options. When you have made a selection press 8 to save each selection and then press 0 to exit."
They also have a chart to follow.
A single press of F8 will mute the locomotive.
Double press swaps between light and sound mode, but it should not affect the sounds playing already.
Did you start the prime mover? I cant remember if you have to start up the locomotive with these decoders or not. Guess its time to run trains.
