Can you post photos of the blown equipment, leds etc, and a photo of what pads you used on the motherboard?
I can not post pictures as the blown leds went out in the trash a few days ago. As far as the pads that I soldered the leds to. I followed the instructions that came with the TCS MB1 1616 motherboard. These instruction are wrong (as per the reply that I posted from TCS). TCS has posted a revised set instructions on their Web site for this motherboard.
This unfortunate incident with this wow MB1 1616 motherboard happened Last Friday evening. After the LED caught fire (briefly) and damaged the shell of my Athearn Genesis SD60M, I have not touched the chassis or decoder since until today. I put it back on the track and now the sound is dead. The only thing coming from the speaker is static. I'm guessing whatever happened with the LED somehow effected the sound files.
I give up. I am going to remove the motherboard and the decoder and send both back to TCS.
This will be the 5th wow decoder (4 previous were the 1st generation wow diesel decoders) that I've had to send back to TCS for replacement.

Frustration is understandable, and it is your 5th decoder. From what you're stating, all this has happened based on the previous instructions that were incorrect.
I hope you're not giving up since the "correct" instructions have been posted by TCS. The rep should be working with you to replace your damaged shell as well as provide you with a replacement sound decoder. According to the new instructions those annoying problems should not occur again.
Give TCS the chance to make things right and let us know how it goes.
