Interesting concept. Two things immediately concern me. First, is that I wouldn't want "room filling sound", and second, for steam engines, I even dislike speakers in the tender as the sound in a steam engine comes from the front of a real locomotive. Installing the sound in a car behind the engine makes the sound even more disconnected - especially when viewed up close.

Not putting down your efforts .... just not my cup-o-tea ....

Mark.

Thanks, Mark.  Guess you have to be there (here).  Stop by some time when you are out on the west coast and I will try to convince you. Or if you have the chance, stand beside a real steam loco pounding by and try to imagine a model of it in a room....how much sound would be real?  Take a look at my other videos on this topic if you wish.  But you are right in one respect.  When I put the diesels through the subwoofers my wife doesn't like having to straighten all the pictures back on the walls upstairs.
