Removal of flywheels from motors

I have a set of Bachmann Plus F7 I would like to do some motor maintenance to. Is there an easy way to remove the flywheels to allow disassembly of the motor?

North West Short Line has a flywheel puller for this. I own one and it is quite easy to use. I have tried clamping the flywheels into a vise and doing it but it does cause considerable damage, that why I bought the puller.

You can find them on the web if you do a google search.

Unless you have some real stubborn flywheels, they should just twist off the shaft. Only one will come off the other needs to be removed by grasping the shaft carefully with pliers. If the shaft tries to turn before the flywheel moves- stop, you will only remove it w/ a puller as mentioned . you'll be sure to damage the motor shaft.
