This one is for the GN modelers of the group. In the noted picture, http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3184839, what is printed in the 5th panel and is there a decal for it in Microscale's 87-268? I am relettering a hopper to match this one and any help would be much appreciated.
In the fifth panel is a ACI bar code. It was an early bar code system that fell out of favor partially because they couldn be read when dirty. Kind of a constant state for railcars. They are available as decals, just not sure if that set.
Mirobron the fifth panel is a ACI bar code
That's the 6th panel; he's asking about the small print to the left of the bar code.
I tried blowing up the pic, and it's just to distorted. Don't know.

Didn't you ask this question before?
Maybe a search for a data sheet for PS2 3 bay covered hoppers, through the different decal manufacturers. I'd start with Microscale.
Mike.

The OP is specifically asking if the Microscale decals have this data.
I have no idea what it says, but the 2nd line is longer than all the other lines. This is a screen shot of that decal set, with a 4 line image, where the 2nd line is longer

Sorry, I was counting full panels. The info on the fifth panel is probably the rail equipment trust info. Stating the year and bank that is owner and lessor of the equipment.
Yep, OK Henry, went to the top and read again, it's there in the pic you posted. I guess he'll just have to get the sheet, read it with a magnifying glass, and see what it says.
Thats what I had to do to get the decals right on a few spine cars.
The lettering is:
GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY
SECOND EQUIPMENT TRUST OF 1967.
FIRST NATIONAL CITY BANK.
TRUSTEE, OWNER, LESSOR.
By chance I happened to photograph GN 172323 back in 1975 and have a scan of the slide that I can enlarge enough to read the lettering.

Well there ya go! See what a help these forums are!

Well that definitely answers the first part of the question, but unfortunately, the decal set I have doesn't seem to have that information on it. Any ideas on that problem would be most welcomed.
Well, Henry's picture, and looking at it in Microscale's web site, show that if you have set #87-268, It's there.
Maybe you bought a "used" set, with some stuff missing.
And you only ask if this is on the decale sheet you have/bought, whatever, there is not 2 parts to your question.
EDIT: check it for yourself, using the little magnifyer on Microscale's web site.

My report on this may have been late. The attached photo is the CM Shops (Athearn) product, whose car number is GN172219.

The version I have is the pre-February 2011 revision, which would explain why I'm having the issue.
I did examine the magnification on the site and I couldn't find it on there. (Of course, I was just using a quick run through.)

Well, that may be, but check again.
Right in the middle, about 1/3 way down, look for: GN11400.
Right above that is the built date: New 7-67, along with cu.ft. and weight data, and right above that, in the teeny tiny lettering, is what your looking for.
It still should be there.

I double checked the sheet I have, which was purchased new, and I can't find it. To the right of the 11400 is a pair of Plate C decals. Above is a block that starts with "CAPY 200000 LO." To the bottom is another pair of blocks that start with "CAPY 110000."
To look at the online sheet a different way, the first of the blocks in question is located as follows: Going from the right sides of rectangles of black rectangles with reverse text you straight down to the left hand side of the text in question, correct?
Like I said, right above the 11400 is a block of text with the "blt. date" the cubic ft, the E.W., and the ext. dimensions, 4 lines of text. The two blocks of text above that, is what your looking for.
The microscale web site, start at the top, in the middle, and slide the little magnafying glass down the left side of the goat emblems. Stop between the second and third row of goat emblems.
There you see the G.N. 11400. Above that is the block with the 4 lines of text with the blt date, weight, etc, what I describe in the first paragraph, and above that block of 4 lines of text, is what your looking for.
Scroll back up and look at the pictures in Henry's post.
