I have been looking for a couple 14 wheel centipede tenders with left rail pickup for the Challenger and Big Boy.
Are there manufactures that sell 'tender only'?
I have called MTH and Athearn. No tender only sale of this type. I searched and thought I saw a coming soon series, think December 2017, of Union Pacific 14 wheel centipede tenders and I cannot remeber the web page/manufacture.
Any ideas?
Broadway Limited is coming out with a HO Challenger. They may have a tender available.

Orders were due 4.28.17 and the models are announced for February 2018.
There are dealers that order more models than the reservations they have. Overland Hobbies is one of them.Regards, Volker
Precision Scale Company should have the parts in thier catalog, would require assembly.
Dont be afraid to check brass retailers for the appropriate tenders, as brass manufacturers sometimes run extra tenders to sell separately.
You will be hard pressed to find "left rail pickup only". Most manufacturers do not do split pickup anymore, the technology exists for reliable 2 rail pickup.

You are correct. Athearn announced a limited run of the various challenger tenders. I have called several hobby shops and the models I requested are 'sold out.' I missed the dead line by days! Being a newbie at this......... I have to wait about a year to see if there are any 'extras'
So does anybody have some 14 wheel tenders for rent or lease?

I'd ask them. I had the same problem with an Athearn Genesis GP40P-2. I missed the deadline by months and was able to reserve it there. Give it a try if you haven't done already.Regards, Volker
