At Springfield this year I found P2K Blue Box Chessie System SD9 (actually 3 I think). I sprung for 1 (regretting not grabbing the other 2).
In the parts bag are sunshades (prototype photos indicate B&O didnt choose this option), winterization hatch (installed on prototype), rock plow pilots, two bay windows (cant find any Chessie SD 9 with these), three small items circular in nature (steam generator details? prototype photos do not indicate existance), two side frame mounted re-railers (not installed on prototype from what I can see), and a piece of metal wire with a loop in it on one end and a 90 degree bend on the other (no idea what this is). The detail parts chart says yes to steam generators and sunshades, but the only photos I have found doesnt seem to indicate that is the case on #1840. #1839 has sunshades. #1831-1838 all have dynamic brakes. #1839 and 1840 do not.

Can anyone point me to a top down photo of Chessie #1840?
Life Like included a bag of generic details with each loco. You may or may not use them depending on the prototype. The metal wire with the loop is the tool to help open the cab doors. If I remember right, there is a little slot on the bottom of each door and the end with the 90 degree bend fits in there. Then, just pull the door open.
