I just unboxed my first Intermountain SD40-2 (HO). In the parts bag were 1 Firecracker Antenna, (2) Sunshades, (4) walkway bridges (what are these called?) 2 in up posistion and 2 in down position, and (2) small black disks with 6 small indented lines (like spokes on a wheel) on one side and smooth on top. Everything else was pretty obvious as to its function and location, but where do the small disks go?
Also there are small holes in the "porch" on each end of the locomotive, with no explanation (Ditchlights are installed on front already as are MU connections under the ditchlights).
Not really sure why this got moved, as this question strictly pertains to the model and not the actual locomotive (except for the one question I guess, what are the walkway parts called?).
Most likely, the holes on the walkways are for drop steps, which are the bridges you mention.

I should post photos, the holes are offset to the side, not centerline. I will have to unpack them from train show stuff
