Smokey Valley stanchions for a SD7 - not the right height
Posted by depotman1999 on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 4:47 PM

Smokey Valley stanchion kit #100 seems to be several scale inches below the plastic ones that came with a P2k loco.  Anyone know what the correct prototype height is for the handrails?

Thanks,

David

Measuring off the plans in the Kalmbach book  (SD7, GP7. GP20), it looks to be 3'-1" to 3'-2" from deck to centerline of handrail.

Thanks Ed.

Just has I thought, the Smokey Valley stanchions are too short.
