From the Webpage of my preferred German mailorder dealer

Modeling - The Glory Years of Rail

If you model the steam-to-diesel transition years of the 1950s, this how-to guide is for you! Loaded with historical photos and information, this 88-page book offers modelers pieces on 50s-era trains, equipment, trackside details, modeling projects and more from the pages of Model Railroader magazine. Featuring 116 color and 25 black and white images, it's a great reference if you're planning or building a transition-era railroad.

There's a thread about this under discussion in the MR General Discussion forum.

The previous one came out in 2000 or so. More than half of the current book (more like 3/4ths actually) was taken from the earlier book or special edition.
