I got a new True Line Trains F-M C-Liner finally. Now this will be an easy starting point. I plan on updating it with a EMD 567 just as NYC did in about 1955. I can not find a good picture of the roof. Do you suppose the exhaust would be spaced just as a GP-7 or F-7 would be, and did they plate over the holes that would be left from the original exhaust, or did they locate that as a starting point for one of the exhaust ports for the EMD 567. I will also be adding sound, so my next question is if this conversion used 1st generation electrical control, and thus have the notch in the spooling up of the diesel engine that is so charastic of the first generatiion engine control. I would assume that it did as the 2nd generation equipment didn't occur untill later I don't think.
The only glaring error I see on this model is the missing smaller center brake cylinder on the side frame of the A-1-A truck, probably done that way for clearance. It is right behind the ladder that hangs down from the carbody right over the center axle, or the LL Proto Erie builts don't have it either and that is probably the same side frame casting.
In any case that will be easy enough to fix and I am looking for a photo of the roof of this conversion. I have several 3/4 shots, but not from a high angle, nor do I have a straight on side shot so I can see where the exhaust stacks should be for this conversion. They probably used the off the shelf exhaust so the spacing is probably the same as an EMD Fx.
