60's Diesel Prototypes in SoCal

Was just in Fillmore, CA: The Fillmore & Western Rwy. has just acquired some of CA & AZ Rwy locomotives: (GP35, GP30) to go along with its F's and Alcos (RS-32, S-2,4). The good news is you can get within a few feet of them, either on Mt. View Ave., or along the city's promenade (sidewalk) that runs along the right-of-way east of Fillmore City Hall.
While you're there, check out the Historical Society's displays and equipment, then go across Mt. View to see and ride with Ventura County Live Steamers 1-1/2" scale live steam trains on the first Sunday of each month.

Well, I like GP30s, and with Norfolk Southern as the dominant railroad, we get a raw power deal. All we see are Dash 9s. There are some places around here that have good 60's diesels. Of course (besides NS' SD9s), BNSF is the only railroad that has first generation motive power.
