BEMF question
Posted by spidge on Saturday, December 30, 2006 10:53 AM
I thought I read someplace that the Digitrax decoders shut off the BEMF when in a consist. Is this true or is there a setting I should adjust for better consist operation.

Look in the Digitrax decoder manual, starting on page 58. The CV57 that control the intensity of back-EMF has 2 values in each one. The low 4 bits are the value used when running individually, and the upper 4 bits are the value when in consist. A lower value for when in a consist makes sense, because otherwise the two locos will fight one another.

Thanks Randy but I have been to the Digitrax website many times and must be missing the link to the decoder manual. Can you give me some help here.

Many Thanks.

Digitrax home page -> Manuals and Instructions (at the top of the page) -> Download the Manuals! (...click here.) -> Digitrax Decoder Manual.  That will bring you here:  http://www.digitrax.com/ftp/decodermanual.pdf
