Today, a special train filled with dignitaries departed the passenger station in Oakhurst bound for an excursion on the Western Pacific, hosted by the owner himself, Bob Grech. A great time was had by all, but one of the passenger cars received decades of "weathering" at the hands of Bob in about 10 minutes.
Here are a few pictures:
Leaving the Oakhurst station headed South on the line to Coarsegold and Fresno, where there is a short run on the Southern Pacific before moving on to the Western Pacific.
Arriving on the Western Pacific, the views are spectacular!
We were all sorry to go, but had to get the Shay and Climax back to work in the forest on Monday. May thanks to Bob Grech for his hospitality!
