Background software ??

When I was at the northeast train show I saw a company selling background software . I did not check it out too much because I was did not even start my bench work yet .
Does anyone know of this or any "Do-it yourself " backgrounds?
Or I'm looking for autumn backgrounds bigger than 7.5 which I found in a search of the forums .

Walthers' catalog always seemed to have a lot of background stuff. Instructions on painting backgrounds can be found in lots of places...MR does something on it every year or so, I think. There was a recent article on using digital photographs to make a realistic background.

As for "bigger than 7.5" -- what unit are you thinking of?

Sorry I should have explained my self better . I have a HO layout and I found backgrounds that are only 7.5" high . I would like 13" and up .
I will be going around my basement which is 40'x24' so I need at least 100' of background and that will get pricey fast . So if I could print them off my PC and glue them to the walls or background material .

and you don't think printing 100' of 13" high backdrop is going to be pricey ? given the cost of decent photo quality paper plus all the ink you'll use i'd guess that's going to be expensive . maybe not as expensive as buying it . either way , the photo backgrounds i've seen look amazing . good luck !

100 feet of 13" high backdrop would only take 64 sheets of 13 x 19 paper which is available at any paper supplier by the ream (500 sheets). I use an HP professional inkjet. I have set up a tripod on my roof and when there is a blue sky with fluffy white clouds I rtate the camera overlapping each exposure to make a panorama using software made for that purpose. The clouds look fabulous after a litle work in Photoshop. I would be interested in the supplier of the background software.

I found some backgrounds for $45.00 but they are size 10.4"x8' so for 100' I need 13 of them , costing $585 plus SH. This is why I think making my own will be cheaper. Ink cartgage are around $50 each plus paper . Guessing $200.00-$300.00 . Only problem I see is finding the right photos to use . Joe
