hi its the guy with the tight 15" track...again. some of my favorite boxcars are 50 footers. i no it wouldnt look at all realistic but do you think it would run without derailing or slowing down the train?

In a word...No. The probabilities are that the corners of adjacent cars will make contact with one another in the turns and cause a derailment, or that the lateral and friction forces involved will simply pull such long cars off the track. Not only will one car likely tip over inside the curve, it wouldn't be surprising to see the entire train go over!

Some will some wont. I have some 50' cars that the wheels rub the fram on 18"R curves. Coupler deflection may also come into play and if the couplers done move enough you get what CNJ831 stated above.

A Veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life."
