Best way to clean switches ?
Posted by Mailman56701 on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 1:05 PM
I've managed to get some glue on my Atlas switches. Been bright-boying the hell out of them, and *eventually* they get clean, but it takes a lot of work.

Any quicker/easier way to clean them ?

50/50 dilution of water/scenic cement.

I got some on my track while ballasting. Been going at it with a bright boy. It's getting there...I think.

Sorry no help here. [8D]

Look at the glue bottle, it may give you a hint on what disolves it. Don't use anything that will harm the Atlas plastic.

I believe scenic cement is water based. Try using a coarse towel dampened with water.

My LHS owner suggested rubbing alcohol on a rag. I used this on the tracks as well as the wheels of my loco, and it runs so much smoother.
