signaling

I tried to ask on the other forum....might have better luck here. To keep it short.....I want to use 3-light over 3-light boards, top for normal, bottom for diverging route. I'd like to know if there is a way to have a relay or the switch machine select the "mode" of aspect displayed. I.e.....depending on the position of the turnout, which board will show red/yellow/green for train control, top or bottom. I'll be using DCC and PC. Also, what user friendly software, if any, will control train movements at each signal automatically? (stop on red, slow on yellow,...etc.) thanks much...........J

The 'Panelpro' part of the JMRI suite (http://jmri.sourceforge.net/) can be made to do this - But, as is being discussed on the Yahoo group, you're still gonna have some programming to do as there are *so* many ways to do this depending on *exactly* how you want it to work, how your blocking scheme is done etc etc.

JMRI (in combination with something like Digitrax' SE8C) signal controller will control the heads you mention in all kinds of ways - Suggest you also check that out.

Ian
