passenger cars and the lingo
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, June 9, 2005 1:16 PM
So I finally moved my snail butt and got the Kato business car done for my SF set. Now I want to add some passenger cars to this.....What is YOUR expert opinion on what to get? I mean, I cannot find corrugated silver cars anywhere. Any links or ideas appreciated. By the way, I have not written in a looong while due to the fact that I decided to build a house (a real one!) And this has taken up my time. Until now. My wife just let me know last week that she is pregnant and has given the go ahead for the train. Now who wants to give me money? Ha![8D]

IHC, Rivarossi, Athearn, and Walthers all carry corrugated cars. IHC runs an ad every month in Model Railroader. A good place to look is: http://www.discounttrainsonline.com/ho-scale-model-trains.html

I ended up ordering a couple from athern kits. I will see when they get in. Discount trains always seems to not have stuff in stock...or am I reading it wrong? Anyway, i think the athern will look nice next to the Kato. I have yet to see a IHC model. Newbie and all. well I will see how it goes. While I was there, I picked up a 50' gondola and a scrap iron load. Gonna mess with that till the cars get in.
