DCC question
Posted by Blind Bruce on Sunday, May 22, 2005 5:39 PM
The throttles of DCC systems have a small LCD display.
If I cannot read or see this display, will I be able to use a PC to do all that the display shows?

I think it depends on the system. I have a Lenz 90 and Lenz 100 setup which have a large LED display on the 90 and a large LCD display on the 100. With these throttles, it is easy to see what you are doing.

Again, it depends if there is a computer interface available for your system.

The free JMRI software has a computer-based throttle. Depending on your screen size, it should be quite large. Also if there is a special need, I'm sure some of the people who work on developing it could crank out a special 'large type' throttle fairly quickly.

I have the prodigy advance and I can read the display without my glasses on. However, if you are more optically challenged than I, perhaps you could rig up one of those reading magnifiers to the throttle.
