Billboards - dimensions for Lionel and HO

Just wondering what the actual size of a standard Lionel or HO scale billboard is (the actual billboard signage). I have a lot of digitized and customized billboard material, but I need to rescale it correctly (inches) for use on both layouts.

The ones I found are 2"x2.5" and I'm using that as the standard, the measurement is from an Altas one I think. However the size can vary as I am sure it does, real life

The sizes I used when creating the artwork I offer (free!) at Fritz's House o' Model Billboards (http://www.wyomingyard.com/billboards) are as follows:

• Model Railways' wood billboard kit: 5.65" x 2.9"


• Walthers, Athearn plastic billboard: 3.0" x 1.8"


• Lionel "classic" green plastic billboard: 5.0" x 2.5" visible area at the top of a 5.0" x 3.25" backing
