Atlas HO code 100 "6 Customline switches #393 and #394

1. Do the #52 and #53 switch machines fit the above switches or are these for the older snap switches?

2. I'll be using the #56 turnout control box.

3. How do you power the metal frog? The Tam Valley hex frog juicers are expensive. What other way is there to power the frog?

4. DCC with NCE system.

I suspect these turnouts will work with the specified twin-coil machines.  I had a few of them and they worked fine.

I never bothered powering the frogs.  I thought of it.  You can use the Atlas snap-relays wired in parallel and driven by the same controllers.  If you do, I would advise using a Capacitive Discharge circuit like a Circuitron Snapper to drive all your twin- coil machines.

A Tortoise switch machine ìs a bit pricier, but it can both drive the points and power the points, and you will still have contacts left over for turnout position indicators.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

These are the new Atlas HO Scale Code 100 turnouts. They do not need any special wiring and are DCC friendly. I have a number of them on the layout and they work just fine.

FYI, the prior run of these (Mark IV) came with metal frogs and are DCC friendly. I also use the NCE system. They will work with the #56 controller and you should be able to use their remote switch machines.

Is there a reason you want to power them? Just curious as I have my track insulated after the frogs to protect the reversing loops I have...

Short wheel base engines, i. e. 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 stop on frog. Then powering the frog solves it I thought.
