Walthers Union Station details
Posted by Quincy47 on Saturday, May 19, 2018 6:49 PM

I want to  detail the interior of this Walthers kit. Where do I find things like flooring, benches, counters and so forth?

I didn't use their "Union Station" kit, but rather their YMCA building.

The building was too deep for my space, so I shortened the side walls and the roof.  Inside, I shortened the "lobby" are by printing an interior wall I found with google.  My scrap box yielded a couple of benches.

The checkered tile floor is another pattern from the computer.  Here, the ticket booths on the wall are just a picture.  The "metal" gate is a scrap from some old Model power fencing.  The round desk was cut from sytrene, and the announcement board was once again printed on he computer and glued to a scratchbuilt styrene sign on posts.  I found a bunch of skiers in my figures collection, and used them to populate the station.

Looking into the big station window, the details are obscured but the viewer still gets the impression of the big station interior.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
