I see you've been a member for awhile, but welcome to posting on the forum! That's a great looking desert scene. Please tell us a bit about your layout - and more pictures is always a good thing.

Welcome! Welcome

I'm going to venture to speculate that your layout is based on the Southern Pacifics Tehachapi Pass? And from the cars in the scene the era is 70s/80s?

I also model SP so that scenery is familiar from all of my prototype research...

Welcome

Do you have any favorite locomotives/roadnames you'd like to share?

I'd love to see some pictures of your train collection.

Calente in Switzerland    http://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?media/caliente-in-switzerland.26679/

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Given that the store is labeled "Caliente", pretty safe bet.

Yes I am modeling SF and UP in N-Scale.
I started with on Roundhouse over 40 years ago.
Then I start to copy Bob Smaus Old Part of Los Angeles in N-Scale.
Next step was the Horseshoe of Caliente also from a Model Railroader article.

And now I am Working on the Mojave Diesel Shop.

Eugen, nice modeling I'm partial to the transition era and HO scale, but you can't beat good modeling with great scenery regardless of scale...

Switzerland? Hmm, that's a long way from southern California! If you are looking for a couple of good reads about the SP try John Signors books I have four, Tehachapi, Donner, Shasta 1, and Shasta 2 all are great reads a bit on the high end in pricing but are well worth it to a fan and modeler of the SP... hope to see more of your work around here.

Yes Steve your right. That’s a long way.

Sometime I have the chance to work for Ghirardelli in San Leandro. The weekends I spend normally in Stockton or Oakland Jack London squere.  And so I am able to hook up a other week for Railfaning in my favorite train spotting aeria Caliente and the Tehachapi Route. Then on the way back Cajon, San Bernardino, Colton yard, Fullerton and back to LAX.

Greetings from Switzerland
