Cleaning Steel Rails
Posted by B30-7CR on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 7:08 PM

I have the really old Life-Like Power-Loc sectional track with steel rails, and I have NEVER cleaned the tracks before. Anybody know the best way to clean steel?

Crap happens. When it does, stop, take a deep breath, and call the wreck train.

Give it a good firm rub with a "bright boy" or other hard rubber cleaning block, then polish with Filtz metal polish. The polish will help prevent future corrosion.
