Hi all, As you can see in my "Track Plan" (copy the URL into google), i'am young and on a budget, it is a 6x4 foot. The red lines are track, the blue is the table, and the green around the red is where industries are already, and the yellow over the blue is spare land to be filled by a yard, I only have 2 left hand and 1 right hand switch remaining, however lots of flex track and curves remaing. Any ideas for industries other than a yard are also welcome.

From your plan, I hope you are in N scale. I ahve a 4'x6' HO and barely have room for a loop with a couple of passing sidings.
I would layout your track that you have plannned, just using push pins to hold it in place. Then you will be able to better see just how things are going to line up.
If you have room, I think I would use a pair of switches to make a double ended siding with a tail long enough to take your longest loco, so it can get out from in front of the train. Use the other switch to put an adjacent single ended siding. You would be able to move the caboose to the tail and rearrange the train on the three tracks.

I agree with the prior poster. Unless we are talking about N-scale, I believe the only thing that will be able to be fit into that space is a switchback from one of the existing industrys. A 4x6 in HO does not have enough room for a yard.
Is the turnout into the yard shown on the center right really a trunout that is already there? If so does that count as one of the three turnouts left or are there three turnouts in addition to that one. Even in N-scale, with three turnounts, the most one can get is four stub end tracks. Then from the position of the turnout off the main, I would think one of the turnouts is going to have to be used for a switchback into the area in question. Anyway one looks at it I don't think much of a yard can be constructed. Maybe just car storage tracks...?

Seems to me like it in principle should be possible to fit a small yard, a cement plant etc onto a 4x6 foot table in H0 scale, if you don't also try to squeeze in a continuous run loop within the same 4x6 feet. The challenge comes if you try to fit both a continuous run loop and worthwhile industries within the 4x6 foot table. Two 180 degree turn back curves eat up a lot of the space on a small 4 x something H0 scale layout.

maybe the Gold Hill Central is an idea for you. A 6x4 HO layout , the trackwork seems not all that easy.
