Mounting Walthers trucks on BCW coach
Posted by b&mbuggy on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 2:27 PM

I have two Bethlehem Car Works (Intermountain) RTR PBn coaches, and I am unhappy with the quality of their trucks; they are slightly skewed and are wobbly. I purchased two pairs of Walthers Pullman 4-wheel trucks to replace the BCW trucks. Upon attempting to swap them I noticed that the bolster hole diameter on the walthers trucks is much wider than the small diameter screw that held the old trucks in place (the old trucks have smaller holes). I want to mount the new trucks with as little modification to the car frame as possible. I have noticed some photos of assembled BCW craftsman kits have the walthers trucks mounted, so I know it was done before. I am wondering if anyone has ever made this swap before, and how they did it. What new hardware was used? Thank you very much for your help.
