Woodlad scenics water?
Posted by yankee flyer on Thursday, May 20, 2010 2:50 PM

I'm just double checking something I have heard.
Does the "WS" water attack foam and will a couple coats of interior house paint protect the foam?

Thanks for any help.

I don't know if it would, easy enough to test I guess. I used WS realistic water over foam but covered the foam with plaster cloth first and then painted it. I would suggest doing something similar.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't.  We have poured it in several areas on an HO scale club layout where there were cavities in a foam base, and all we did was paint the foam with plain latex or acrylic paint prior to pouring the water.  It will find the tiniest of holes to leak through, though, so put the paint on thick.
