XTrackCAD Question
Posted by peahrens on Sunday, February 21, 2010 10:44 AM

Greetings.  I've encoutered a problem with XtrackCAD on my wife's laptop, a Windows XP syterm.  It worked ok for awhile, but now if I try to "Move" anything it moves only in big (12") increments.  I've tried uninstalling and downloading again but it does the same.  When I download again, it does find my layout folder, so perhaps it's importing a bad setting I created associated with prior layouts?  I can't find a setting change that seems to help. I have not encountered the problem on my desktop Vista PC, but like to use on the laptop away from my desk.

Look under "View" and make sure you don't have the Snap Grid enabled.

Yes, Don, that was it! I guess the tutorial must have got me started correctly but then I changed it and didn't remember what that does.  I'll go to Help or the tutorial and review that. Meanwhile, I see there's a Yahoo Group for XTrkCad.  Do you find it useful as an XTrkCAD forum?  Thanks!!

I am a member of the Yahoo XtrkCad group and have learned a lot just by reading through the topics posted. I would recommend joining; it's a great resource for information on the program.
