I am laying out track on my servicing yard layout to get the kinks out before final installation. One of my structures is the Walthers Cornerstone Cinder Conveyor & Ash Pit.
What is the proper spacing for the track (real experience- not "suggested") that would run over the pit and the other one that would hold a gondola or open hopper as a dump car? I have not built the model yet, but would like to continue with trackwork alignment before stopping just to build the kit.
I have already found other structures actual track center requirements differ from the "suggested" dimensions, enough to make proper space planning critical.
Are there any MR articles on this model kit or ones that show it's installation ona layout?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.

Refer to the NMRA gage when there is a question regarding the distance a structure need to be from track etc. When I installed mine I just picked the in track I want it to be on and just traced the outline of the pit and cut out the subroadbed out allowing the pit to sit flush with the surface, centered the track over the installed pit and glued it in place.
