Track Center from Backdrop

What kind of trouple am I going to have with only 1" from the track center to the backdrop?  It's straight track in N scale.

Stick a NMRA track gauge on a mock up and see if it clears the backdrop.

For straight track in N scale, the NMRA standard suggests that 19/32" is sufficient, so you should be OK at 1". But that may not allow clearance for 1:1 scale fingers if you need to retrieve somethng.

As long as you can minimize any train shadows falling on the backdrop, I don't think the distance from the track center to the backdrop is a concern.
