Pictures of my new layout finally posted
Posted by ksax73 on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 8:47 AM

Hey Guys,

It's been a while since I've posted on here but I wanted to let you know that I have new pictures on my website which consist of photos from my earlier layouts when it was still on the floor and my most recent incarnation  of the Mary Lindsay Railroad (MLRR).

(A bit of brief history) I finally have a layout which is no longer on the floor but I ended up moving out of my first two-bedroom apartment into another due to some issues with the landlord (failure to properly exterminate rodents).  The new place had a slightly larger second bedroom and therefore the layout increased in size by 2ft.  The concept has been the same throughout, just expanded upon.  An oval for constant running and terminals on either side.  When the layout was moved off of the floor, I was able to incorporate through tracks for low-level platforms as well as high level platforms.  Hopefully the pictures will explain the rest.

Here are some samples:

The above photo is train number 3, the Southwest Chief, rolling through Raton Pass.

The Amtrak California cars above were manufactured by Union Station Products as Craftsman kits.
