im looking for blue prints of round houses/ engine houses. i like to scratch build and i find that when i have "blue prints" i do much better, so i am looking for a site i could go to to get drawings with measurments on them . dose any thing like that exist
Actually, your request is rather broad, but I don't believe there's one source for all plans and blueprints. If you can narrow down your search (era, railroad name, region, type construction, etc.) it may make us more able to help you. For example, if you're talking about a specific railroad, most have technical and historical societies dedicated to collecting and sharing such info.
you know your right and i dont know why i didnt think of a historical society site
but i was looking for a 4 to 5 stall 1950 ish
Check out the Historical American Building Survey - Historic American Engineering Record.
Search for "HABS-HAER"
Then search for roundhouse. Lots of pictures, plans, drawings, elevations, histories etc.
I wouldn't search for 1950's since there were VERY few roundhouses building the 1950's. Most of the roundhouses used in the 1950's were actually built between 1900 and 1930. In the 1950's railroads were buildin diesel shops, not roundhouses.

Here - 8-stall roundhouse, pictures plus drawings, from HABS/HAER:

Yeah - you will actually have to figure out how to reduce the plan from 8 to 5 stalls - shouldn't be too hard to do.
