Posting an AVATAR
Posted by HHPATH56 on Sunday, March 22, 2009 7:48 AM

Is it possible that some of you are still using the grey shadow head as your AVATAR, since you do not know how to Post your personal photo as an AVATAR ????    It is an easy process ! Frst, you must Post all train photos in a Host (eg. I use Photobucket.com )   Establish an Album, (especially devoted to train photos,) and give a Title to each photo. Below each photo will be four options. Click on the IMG option.  Go to Edit on the Work Bar above and click on Copy.  Momentarily, the word "Copied" will appear. For Thumbnail photos,(instead of the IMG), there is a small square below the photo. Click on the square, then on the rectangle below. Then click on Edit and Copy. . .  Now go to Trains.com. and on the right side of the entry page of the chosen Forum, click on Update My Profile, (in the My Profile area).  Click on "Avatar" , and then click on Browse.   You may have to choose the place where the Photos are stored,(eg. Recent Places), and then click on the desired photo.  It will have a blue border around it.  Now click on "Update".  It may take some time for the Activity circle to "download" your photo. .Now go to any of your Posts, and your Photo AVATAR should be there. You can change the Photo as many times, as you desire.  That's it!          Bob  Hahn
