Changing color of fake fur
Posted by cudaken on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 8:06 PM

Bought some fake fur today, can I use a water base paint as a wash and change the color? It is a yellow green, looking to make some green, some yellow and some brown. I have water base paint that is in the range I am wanting to make.

I just add WS foiliage to my fake fur.  I spray it with hairspray and sprinkle the foiliage on it.  Then respray.   Even thou my color is brown.  A guy in March 2008 tells how he did the color change.  I tried it his way, and it turned out bad.

Heres a old shot.  Gives you a idea.

Craft stores.  Like Micheals, Hobby Lobby, etc.

Any fabric store should carry it.

Our own Joe Fugate has an excellent tutorial on using fake fur: http://siskiyou-railfan.net/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.17

Thanks for the information, unfortunately Micheals or Hobby Lobby don't have any store in Quebec.
