Upright propane tanks/bottles
Posted by rstaller on Monday, September 22, 2008 5:45 PM

Looked thru the new Walthers catalog, for standing propane tanks/bottles, but couldn,t find any. Does anyone know of any out there in HO scale?  I guess if I can,t find one, I might be able to make one from plastic tubing and fitting.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, there's this:

Or are you talking about one of those smaller bottles like homeowner's have when they have a gas dryer in the basement of their otherwise all electric house?  Or one of those minitanks that you need for a gas grill?

The plastic sprue that kit parts come attached to would be a good starting point.  Some of the thicker ones would be about the right diameter, and one of the ends is usually rounded off.  I've got some little sprue bits I've saved just because they look like the little ones for gas grills.
