I have the contest link ready, but I want to be 100% sure I got everything correct.
This contest had an added level of complexity in that there were multiple scales. On top of that people submitted entries via email, PM's, web-links, and Train.com email. Some of the layouts did not specify a scale. The layouts were submitted as .pdf's, .png's, jpg's, .bmp's and text was as varied as well often separate email from the picture submission. Anyway, it took longer to sort that stuff out and create a level of conformity than it did to program the voting page.
But I'm not sure I got everything right, so if you would, take a second and look over your submission and make sure everything is okay. I will start the voting tomorrow in the morning.

Respond here whether your submission is okay or not.
(Vic, I think you have a lock on G Scale.)
Chip
Building the Rock Ridge Railroad with the slowest construction crew west of the Pecos.
Good looking layouts. At least you worked the bugs out of your crashed system. I am sure you will get alot of responses.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
SM:
Could you switch the order of my pictures so the upper level is on top, and make the upper level the thumbnail on the voting page? Presentation is everything, and the lower level juuuust isn't so photogenic...
Looks like some very creative entries this round.
BTW: Mine looks good enough.
You know Chip, if you ever need help, I dont mind helping out.
Don - Specializing in layout DC->DCC conversions
Modeling C&O transition era and steel industries There's Nothing Like Big Steam!

I suspect that SpaceMouse's determination to have the layouts be anonymous(e) is doomed to failure. Most of the layouts are in easily recognizable design and drawing styles, and the few that aren't are revealed when the designers post their name here.
But whatever - it is not really important whether we can tell who designed what. Quite a few interesting layouts there. Good work on the web pages, Chip!

I can guess which ones are Chad's and Tom's. But can you guess which one is mine?
There are some really nice set ups in this round. I can honestly say mine isn't near the top....Darn it. Some of these offer great scenic oportunities. There goes my claim to fame. <snaps fingers>

I'm gonna tell on you if you don't give me your lunch money!
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!

Sorry about that. I forgot that was in my signature.
Oops... mine is not shown. I'll re-send it now.

Thanx! All is good.

Mmmm - not really, Don.
I haven't seen enough of your layout sketches to really recognize your drawing style. I would look for H0 scale, eastern, big steam and maybe not too much scenery in the sketch.
If I had to make a guess maybe H0 scale no 10. But I could be, and probably is, totally wrong.
It's not important. I just thought it funny that I recognized the style of quite a few participants. Or at least - that I thought I recognized the style of quite a few participants.
But SpaceMouse is right about that not necessarily not being the case for everybody who see the layout plans.
And even if quite a few recognized the styles of some of the participants, it is not a bad thing. Pretty much everyone who have seen a couple of Ian Rice layout plans recognize an Ian Rice plan when they see a new plan by him. Some designers just have a recognizable style.
Btw - no points awarded whatsoever for recognizing my entry - it wouldn't be much of a challenge for people who have seen me post various other layout plans. Not that I am claiming to be the equal of Ian Rice in any way, shape or form when it comes to layout design
The Old Dog pound looks just fine!
Thanks and have fun

I've been able to rekindle my interest in model railroading now that the kids are getting older. In an effort to find some inspiration as to what kind of layout to build, I find these contests very interesting.
However, while looking at the HO contest entries, I noticed that the Buffalo & Susquehanna is a mirror image of a trackplan published in Model Railroader in April of 2001. The only difference is the addition of a small yard along the left wall.
While the Appalachian Central entry clearly includes references to the Model Railroader article as the inspiration for the design, the Buffalo & Susquehanna makes no such mention.
I find it sad that someone would enter a published trackplan as their own in a contest.
If the author of the April 2001 article entered his layout design as the Buffalo & Susquehanna, then please disregard this post.
