Thans Irv , I am going to do operations and this mod actually allows for the same yard movements and 2 additional sidings.
Thanks Irv , Stay Warm , Mike
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” -- John Lennon
It sure gives you more room. But are you going to do any operations?
Irv
Here is what I have been doing here while off work.I decided the yard was way to much at the front of the layout so here is what I did and seems to work well and gives more scenery space as well as better scenery transition.
Mike
I was both and have been buying and selling motorcycles.
It looks great, Mike. But how come you let three months go by since you posted the previous update? Are you getting lazy like me or just running out of steam?
So far this weekend I got the southwest corner done on the work bench and placed on the layout . I need to blend it in and also got the preliminary road in place in front of it.
Thanks J glad you enjoyed it. I do need a score board , some advertising and a flag pole though.
Thanks , Mike
Good job on the baseball field, looks good.
Mntneer I love the baseball field. Great work!
I love the baseball field. Great work!
Thanks , it was a lot of fun.
Here are the pictures of the finished N Scale baseball field. Now I just need to fill in around it and have yet to decide with what. The main street will be at the front edge of the field.
Thanks Bowen and Bob , Glad to have you both tagging along and thanks so much for the kudo's !!
One of the nicest "N" Scale layouts I've seen. Keep us posted as you progress.
Have Fun.... Bob.
Here is the Period Miniatures shed in place as well as some completed ballasting around the engine house and turntable and the instalation of the oil depot from the old layout(with some modifications).
Ulrich , above all I hope you can return to a stable life and then hope to see you in N scale.
Mike,
that river of yours nicely represents a stream after a long and heavy rainfall - with all that mud flooded into it. Looks very realistic to me - much better than the blue or green ones I have seen so many times.
Just another few words to your layout. The work you do makes me seriously think of "converting" to N scale. I am very short of space, living in a small apartment after losing my house due to the financial crisis and the subsequent end of my business. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a job ( I am too old, being 54), so there is no money left for a new start of my own MRR activities. But should I be able to start over again in a I hope not too distant a time, it´ll be N scale!

Thank you very much Ulrich. I am pretty happy with the results but the river almost overwhelmed me. I just couldn't seem to get it the color of the workers here in the Southwest. Thanks again Mike
I have had some time in the last couple weekends to finish the river , irrigation ditch and ranch. Here is how it all turned out.
canazar I love your weathering on the various buildings, concrete, bridges, etc. I am getting to that point on my Whitton Branch shelf layout now with some of the building. Using Christmas decorations, that is out side the box. I love it.

Thanks John, but as model railroaders we are always looking for things that are the correct scale. Thanks again, Mike

Thanks Ulrich , Mike
Love it!
I was able to squeeze in a little model railroading this weekend. I got the ranch well under way on the right side of the entry door.I still need to finish the field in the foreground , the river and ditch.
Sir Madog Mike, thanks for posting the video - as always, a joy to watch!
