Well the McDonalds and small depot have been removed to make way for the new yard expansion.
I also am posting a picture of the re-done existing yard modification. It will all give better operation and scenery possibilities.

Thanks , Mike

Today I got the Homasote in as well as the stringers tied to the L girders and cut off. I also got some track in place to make sure it will fit in.
I am thinking of oil storage tanks on one side or the other in the loop.

I was also able to complete video #18.

I finally got the facia back up on the new extension and yard. I also got the new Yard panel cut out and panel template made as well as the new main panel cut. I am waiting on square Evergreen to make the panel lines.
I use a pre connected cable to connect the panels to the layout.

Here are some buildings I finished this morning to use in the ghost town of Oro Grande. It will be on a hillside at the location of the new cut in the middle of the layout as you come in the door. Two of these were from the old layout and four are newly done. The ghost town will have an abandon road off the main highway and some dead trees and so forth.

Thanks , Mike

Wow,

those buildings look great, Mike!

Inspired by your work, I also started a little layout on mini-modules, using Kato N scale Unitrack. Unfortunately, progress is very slow, as I am still waiting for a few very important pieces of track I ordered from the German importer Noch. I was hoping they´d arrive by this weekend ... Crying

Well , I am a late bloomer last week so today I got all of the scenery done between the back track and backboard and now to weather and ballast the track  there and add people and then the reach will be easier.

I got a major step done today. I cut the highway out of one continuous piece of roofing felt. I then did the piece from the bridge to the crossing. Now for striping and blending in.

Very fine work indeed.  It's great to see a fellow N scaler putting the pedal to the metal.  Your layout is an inspiration to us all.   Keep posting.

A great thread indeed!

Mike, it was your work that finally made me jump to building my mini-modules in N scale!

Eager to see more...

Paul , Thank You So Much. It is funny as I do not see it as work but rather theropy.

Hello Mike.

I have this thread bookmarked and I keep coming back to it every week or so to follow along with your progress. I haven't seen anything new from you since the middle of July. Is all well with you or has the layout been mostly completed as far as any major expansion is concerned and all that is left to do just the myriad of small details to complete the scenes.

It's been fun following along with you on your journey towards an interesting and smooth running railroad.Thumbs UpThumbs Up

All the best,

Blue Flamer.

Well everyone I finally got a small amount of work done in the room as well as some time to finally do video 28.
It seems when I get the time and start working on the layout I will go great guns for awhile then something comes up and I slow back down.
It seems right now I am at a peek again and seem to have a few ideas on areas that were hanging me up. WOOOO WHOOOO!!!

Thanks so much Brian. It is a great track system but has it's own set of complications as does any track but when speed is a factor plus the amount of available pieces it is a real good system.

We have about 650 ft of it at the club and laid it all in about 2 days with novice help.

Thanks , Mike

Here is what has been on mine this week. I had the depot built but finally got around to making a template and getting it mounted and soon to be installed next to the Used Car Lot.

Is that mounted on cork? It looks very nice.

Thanks Gary, It is. I made a template of the area and cut out the HO scale cork (as it is just the right height to get level with the N Scale Unitrack) and then did the work inside and will soon mount next to the Used Car Lot.

Thanks , Mike
