Proper use of terminal strips?
Posted by Hal M. Hare on Thursday, November 8, 2007 6:55 PM

Okay-trackwork ios done and now I must get more than one set of terminal connections.  I bought a box of terminal strips andd wire for a moving modeler friend, but am unsure how to properly use these terminal strips which have room for 8-12 connections.

Many thanks,

Are you talking about terminal strips with a whole bunch of terminals that are all connected, or barrier strips with pairs of terminals separated by plastic ridges?

The first kind is for connecting a whole bunch of things together on the same line, while the second is generally for making paired-wire connections only, where all the connections stay isolated from each other.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Thanks for your input.  Discovered search and appears many of my questions have been previously answered.
