Well all in all it was a productive weekend. I got all the stringer extensions made and installed. and got the masonite for the facia. Other than having a guy in a pickup hit me and my cart at Lowes all went well.Got home and was able to get the new fcia cut and up then down and profiles cut and back up. Next will be the filler homasote pieces on the top. Mike
“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” -- John Lennon

N scale model railroader
Thanks Gary, I do not post here too often as they frown on the mention of the shop. Good to see a friend here though!
Mike
Top notch indeed! It's nice to see N Scale on display like this. Thanks for sharing.
Happy modeling!
Don.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that both engines have failed, and we will be stuck here for some time. The good news is that you decided to take the train and not fly."
EMD.Don Top notch indeed! It's nice to see N Scale on display like this. Thanks for sharing. Happy modeling! Don.
Thanks so much Don , Nice of you to take a peek and you can see the whole construction on YouTube under ACTRR
Thanks , Mike
Happy Valentines all. Today I stayed inside and worked on the milling house for the saw mill area. Not pictured but built are many log and lumber piles. Here are some pics of the finished buildings.Mike
Here is a loco I worked on the last couple days. Gavin is trying to get me to model BNSF and I think I am falling for it.
Added Fire Cracker and moved horn as well as the blocked out BN to BNSF. The only thing I didn't want to tackle is the low headlight.
Waiting for Digitrax K1C.
Here is the finished locomotive that will be the switching mate to the BN.Thanks , Mike
Here are a few stills of the near completed area.Mike
Here is the latest on my small strip of scenery on the front edge. I got the Fifer Hobby building in as well as the nursery and scenery around the Auto parts distributor. Thanks , Mike
Mike - it´s a joy to see this wonderful layout grow! Don´t let the very few comments you get keep you from posting the progress!
After a short, but not very successful detour into On30, I am back to model railroading in N scale, but this time I model what I see at my doorstep - present day Deutsche Bahn in Germany.
Yes indeed. You can see with 22,000+ views, we are watching. Excellent work and thanks for the enjoyable thread.
Cheers,
Eric

I was able to get this Randy Brown Sierra Madre Packing Co. done this week. I hope to mount it on the layout soon.Mike
Nice job on that building, Mike!
I am still in the planning stage of my N scale layout, but without any progress. Designing a small layout which will not have a toyish look, is quite a task. I was planning to use Kato Unitrack as well, but had to shed this idea, as the cost is prohibitive.

It is all worth it in the end once you add up track , roadbed, switch machines and such. You might give it another look.
