Hi, I have been railway modeling since 1968, although I did have wind-up hornby train around 1956.
I am 75 and retired 3 years ago. Since then the layout has gone ahead in leaps and bounds. It is 5metres by 4metres and is a continuous track moving through three ficticous towns.
I have just started using car cards and am getting used to how they operate.
My layout track work is a mixture of bought and scratch built turnouts and crossovers.building are both kitset and scratch built with a few kit bashed.
Scenery is basically mountainous with cliffs all around. There are several tunnels all with lift off tops for easier access.
There is a 5 track layby under on town and a setout section above my workbench.
I run both DC and DCC with the flick of a switch.
Recently I started to catalogue all my rolling stock using Yard Office. I will try to add some pics later.
I also model scale model wooden boats both kitset and scratchbuilt.
