Originally the road-name started as Tafino Junction Railway back in 1961 but corporate marketing changed it to Tafino Rail in the mid-80s. It is a private short line operating somewhere in the south-east corner of British Columbia and serves as an interchange carrier for BN from the south and CN in the north and has trackage rights with CP between the two towns of Tafino and Tilbury. I currently model in N-Scale in the 1980-1995 period.
Daily RDC passenger service is provided from Tafino to the logging site at Chehalis for the logging crews and to Tilbury for the shoppers and small freight shipments.
Motive power is varied with SD40s, SD40-2s handling the heavy freights. SW1200s, RS3s, RS11s, SD9s, MP15s and one NW5 carry out the local switching and freight-yard work, and logging loads from Chehalis to Tafino.
