I'm a Pacific Northwest native, transplanted to southeast Texas.  I have an S scale layout, a switching pike set in a small Texas Gulf coast seaport in 1947.  Two of my great-grandfathers worked for the Northern Pacific in Washington state, one as a conductor, the other as an engineer.
