I've had railroading in my blood since the 1840's when my great grandfather Richard Bore began work with the London and Northwestern Railway (LNWR). He designed and directed the building of coaches for Queen Victoria which are on display at the Railway Museum in York England. He was awarded a gold watch for his services to Her Majesty on her travels in the Royal Train which I inherited from my grandfather. In Canada my rail heritage started with my grandfather Cumming who started work with the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, later CN, and continued with 2 sons and a daughter who worked for CN for a long time, my Aunt Violet retiring after 50 years service with CN. She is a member of the Canadian Railway Hall of Fame located in Big Valley, Alberta.
About 30 or so years ago I discovered Railroad reporting marks and started collecting them with about 150 or more many now defunct railroads I was able to see over the years.
