I have 2 diplomas in electronics and one in Instrumentation Technology, the latter a discipline I taught at community college for 6 years. I worked for Dow Chemical before that, on track crew ferrying tank and hopper cars around so I have real-world experience with trains. When I was a kid, I lived on the tracks and would put nails and coins on the rails to get them squeezed by the cars. My last 20 years before I retired was with a company that installed and serviced process control equipment, all the computer based stuff. I was a field technician but because of all the engineering I had to do to configure equipment for customers, my company paid me engineer's wages. Now it's time to spend that money on my new hobby! Other hobbies: weather (I have a pro weather station), computers (I have 7), electronics (built hundreds of circuits that worked, Christmas light displays (had a 6000 light display run by 3 computers, for 20 years), robots (made 2, working on another that will follow me around my acreage), microscopy, rocks and minerals, car customizing. I made my own CNC. Oh yeah, I like BAKING! Visit my website below: thousands of photos, stories and videos.
