65 year old kid, have had trains most of my life. Dad bought my first set for my first Christmas 1950. Lionel 2036 Prairie model. Have owned American Flyers, (they stayed on the track better) as a kid as well as a couple HO. Started to get interested in MY trains again when parents gave me the set that had been mine as a kid. Engine runs fine, all cars are in fair shape. (shared usage with 5 brothers and sisters). Today looking to "revive" the look of the 2036 and I question, how and why.
Have switched to a fast track layout after purchasing a Polar Express, which is now in my grandsons hands.
Been a cabinet maker and craftsman for 40 years so putting layouts together should be simple, however I have a tendency to tinker and thus can complicate the inside of a ping pong ball.
