Born at Travis AFB, California in 1959 and had a interest in railways from a very early age.   Lived in the UK since I was 5 but still hold a US passport and travel to the US as often as I can.  Was interested in the Santa Fe then later the BNSF for nearly 30 years but changed UP's ex SP lines around the bay area after a trip in 2008.

Currently building a 10x12 layout based on a section of Donner Pass, inspired when I took the California Zephyr from Emeryville to Reno and back in 2008, though there will a liberal use of modellers license on it.
