Born Los Angeles, CA December 1942. Began photographing trains going by the house in Glendale, CA in early 1955. Grew up two blocks from Glendale station and a block from the Pacific Electric Glendale line. Spent many nights at the station with father watching the parade of SP steam and early diesel powered passenger trains and hot freights. Also rode the PE PCCs and Hollywood cars during the last 6-7 years of the line's existence. Went through the Glendale public school system K-12 (Cerritos Elem/Roosevelt Jr High/Glendale High). UCLA undergrad; USC masters.
Semi-retired public finance investment banker, lives in Santiago, Chile with wife and son. Still shooting color slides at a great rate and acts 12 as much as possible. Named one of Trains Magazine significant photographers in their 50th Anniversary Issue, November 1990.
