Grew up as the son of a Great Northern RR fireman/engineer.   Worked for 3 summers on a "Sled  Gang" rebuilding a total of 200 miles of track in the Palouse country, southeast Washington.   Now a big-big fan of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR in Colorado/New Mexico "The best train ride in America"  You can quote me on that.  The ride from Chama, NM to the top of Cumbres Pass is the one to take.
